In The Last Man on Earth, the Vincent Price version of Richard Matheson's I Am Legend, in my view the "vampires" actually act a lot more like zombies, albeit nocturnal zombies. I've always thought that the basic setup of Romero's Night - a fortified house with creatures outside trying to get in - was inspired by Matheson's work, and in the Vincent Price version you can really see the similarities. So you might check that out.
I believe that's a public domain film now, so if you look around a little online you can probably watch it for free.

Hi All, new to the site. I have been lurking for quite some time. I and my family are huge Zombie movie fans. Prior to finding this site I thought I had seen almost every Zombie movie ever made. Moreover, it has been a long-long while since I have been genuinely freaked out by a Zombie movie. That is not to say that I never get jumpy when something pops out of nowhere, that still happens occasionally. However, I have not been scared "scared" in a long while. I rented the movie [REC] a few nights ago based on a recommendation I found on this site. That movie was straight freaky. I loved it. I was so happy to have found it. Intriguing, well acted, realistic, and thrilling. I had seen Quarantine prior to seeing [REC]. I was not all that impressed. [REC], however, was a great, great movie.
BTW, I am so happy to have finally taken the time to sign up here. I hope I make some good friends and continue to get good information on flicks I should watch. |
