i agree with those plot holes you mentioned with 28 weeks later, they were a little wanky. but i guess i enjoyed the excitement more so than the story (not that it was bad overall). 28 days didn't quite have as much 'infected' action as weeks so it was a bit slower paced for my liking. and the main guy who spends most of the movie being puffed out because he was in a coma for a month suddenly becoming capable enough to take out professional soldiers with his bare hands was kinda iffy. i got the whole thing about a blurring of the line between them and us with the rage and violence thing but it was hard to believe anyway. but having said that, when i'm not watching zombie, or zombie/undead related, movies i'm watching action movies. not many schwarzenegger movies are believable but i utterly love them any way. i find that intensity and excitement will override a bit of unbelievability most times when watching movies. i watch to be entertained first and foremost, and if it does that i don't mind some flaws in the plot, at least to a certain extent.

As fans of zombie movies suspending belief kinda goes with the territory...
That said, I like movies where they do their homework so to speak...where the "science" is "real" or sorta real or logical...for me that's where a movie gets scary...![]() It's the holy that could happen factor...

i guess thats true enough about zombie fans susbending belief. but, don't get me wrong, as much as i don't require it for the most part, it is nice when a movie gets things right.
just a sidenote: if you look at the pic in my signature, thats from a british movie from the early '80s called Who Dares Wins. its about the SAS and in particular one SAS soldier who infiltrates an antinuke terrorist group. not alot of action throughout the movie but the end sequence where the SAS assault the US embassy being held by the terrorists is IMO one of the best, most realistic and totally awesome action sequences i've ever seen. they are so fast and efficient it makes me want to weep with joy. the line from the movie btw is "first floor, terrorist dead" as opposed to what i have in my signature. me and a british ex-pat drinking buddy of mine have often when we are getting pissed had that last sequence playing on a loop in the background while we talk and drink. if someone made a zombie movie with dudes like that quickly and efficiently wasting zombies, i think i'd be ready to die a happy man after seeing it. don't know how relevant that is to the topic or this website but i just felt a need to gush about that movie after thinking about realism in films.

On 28 Days Later, I consider it a zombie movie just because it has so many things that are similar. It is also a freaking awesome movie. Up there with DotD 04 and Shaun of the Dead.
28 weeks later was a bit silly, the first scene with the hut/cottage was ****in great really scary but after that it went down hill really really fast. I forgot what else you guys were talking about

yeah, the resident evil thing. in the first two you have to shoot them in the head, but in the third one alice was slashing their throats and it was killing them. whats with that?!?
